Who We Are

The Living Church (TLC) was planted on September 5, 2010 with a core group of five people. Through God's work and our witness, our church has grown since then.

The Living Church is a community of Christ followers who are committed to serving our Lord, serving one another, and serving our community.

Serving Our Lord: 1 Peter 4:11 says, “Whoever serves, [let it be] as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.” We do not serve God as if He needs anything from us because "He is not served by human hands" (Acts 17:25). Rather, in serving the Lord, we trust moment-by-moment that what we need He will supply (“life, breath, and everything”). This is the glory He means to have. The giver gets the glory. Therefore, we are to “serve the Lord with gladness” (Psalm 100:2).

Serving One Another: 1 Peter 4:10 says, "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace". We come to church not to be served, but to use the gifts God has given us to serve one another to His glory. We are commanded "through love serve one another" (Galatians 5:13). We believe that we are to serve each other selflessly through self-sacrifice. With Christ as our example (Philippians 2:5-8), we serve one another to the glory of God.

The Living Church is not filled with people who appear to have "all of their stuff together." We are a redeemed people, not a perfect people. But we do love Jesus, and we attempt each day to humbly respond to His gracious love with joyful obedience.
